Payments
A deposit may be applicable. The final account will be dated the day of the cremation or burial and will be emailed or posted 2-3 days after the cremation or burial, with a due date of 21 days from the date of the invoice.
Financial Assistance
ACC
If the death was the result of an accident and/or physical injury, ACC may be able to help.
FUNERAL GRANT
Work and Income (MSD), may be able to help, this is based on the deceased’s level of assets and income.
MAYORS WELFARE
For residents in the Christchurch area, there is also the Mayor’s Welfare Grant which is assessed on a case-by-case basis and may be applicable if other financial assistance avenues have been exhausted.
EX-SERVICE PERSONNEL
May be eligible for assistance through Veterans Affairs.
