James Traquair "Jim"

TRAQUAIR, James “Jim”: A proud Scot, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in Christchurch at the age of 91.

He was a devoted husband to Anne, a loving father to Lesley and Libby, and a cherished father‑in‑law to Peter. Jim was a much‑loved grandfather to Jack, Nick, Molly, and Oliver, and a proud great‑grandfather to Kora and Luca. He was also dearly loved by Carrisa, Charlotte, Peter, and Madeline.

Jim is survived by his sister Nan and her family in Scotland, who remained close to him across the years and distance.

He had a lifelong passion for football, especially his beloved Celtic, and spent many happy years golfing at Windsor Golf Club, now Bottle Lake.

Jim worked as a dedicated saw doctor, a trade that reflected his skill and craftsmanship. He will be remembered for his humour, his steady nature, and the deep love he held for his family.
